About Us

Creativity doesn’t have to fit in a box.

And neither do you.

Side Quest Creatives is a colorful, curiosity-driven creative studio built around one simple idea:

You don’t have to be “an artist” to make things. You just have to be curious enough to try.

Here, creativity can look like picking up a crochet hook for the first time, filling a sketchbook with terrible doodles, decorating your planner, learning a new craft, buying something made by an independent artist, or disappearing into a project for three hours because you just wanted to see what would happen.

We make things for that feeling.

Welcome to the Side Quest

Side Quest Creatives began with my inability to stick to just one kind of art.

I’m Trudy, a multidisciplinary artist, illustrator, maker, writer, and professional collector of creative side quests.

For a long time, I thought I needed to choose.

Illustration or crochet.
Fine art or crafts.
Products or storytelling.
Making things or teaching people how to make them.

Eventually, I realized the problem wasn’t that I had too many interests.

I was trying to squeeze them into a box they were never meant to fit inside.

So I stopped trying.

Side Quest Creatives became a place where all those interests could live together.

More Than an Art Shop

Side Quest Creatives is growing into a creative ecosystem built around making, learning, storytelling, and everyday creativity.

That means you might find:

Art & Paper Goods
Illustrations, stationery, stickers, notebooks, prints, and little pieces of art designed to make ordinary days more interesting.

Creative Quest Kits
Approachable projects that give you everything you need to try something new, without needing to become an expert first.

Classes & Workshops
Creative experiences for beginners, curious humans, and anyone who has ever said, “I’ve always wanted to try that.”

Stories & Characters
Illustration, comics, children's stories, animation, and original worlds created to make people laugh, think, explore, and imagine.

Creative Services
Character design, illustration, branding, and visual storytelling for people and organizations with ideas of their own.

And this is only the beginning.

Creativity Should Be Part of Everyday Life

I don’t believe creativity should be reserved for people with expensive supplies, formal training, perfectly curated studios, or thousands of followers.

Creativity belongs at the kitchen table.

In the notebook shoved into your bag.

In the five-dollar pack of markers.

In the half-finished crochet project sitting beside the couch.

In the kid drawing an entire civilization on the back of their homework.

In the adult who hasn't made anything since elementary school but suddenly wonders:

“What if I tried?”

That question is where a side quest begins.

The Bigger Quest

My goal is to build Side Quest Creatives into something bigger than a shop.

I want it to become a creative community where people can discover artists, learn new skills, find supplies and projects at different price points, experience stories, support independent creativity, and most importantly, make things themselves.

Some things here will be polished.

Some will be experimental.

Some will probably begin with, “Okay, I have an idea…”

That’s intentional.

Because creativity isn't only about what you eventually make.

It's about staying curious long enough to discover what you're capable of making next.

So wander around.

Pick a side quest.

Make something weird.

Try something new.

And wherever your creativity takes you...

Stay Curious. Stay Creative.
